Mary was the daughter of Samuel Marshall and Mary Sterling. According to the Marshall History [see the memorial of her husband], she married Benjamin Irwin on March 15, 1851 and died August 2, 1861. It appears that this Marshall History is incorrect on at least her date of death.
Her gravestone states that she died July 20, 1866, aged 37 years.
In the 1860 census, Mary was enumerated as aged 31 years, living in Black Lick Twp., Indiana Co., PA with her husband and children. In 1850, she was enumerated as aged 22 years, living in Conemaugh Twp., Indiana Co., PA.
