OBITUARY
Editors Ledger: - Sarah Elizabeth DAWES died in Pleasant Plain at the home of her sister, Mrs. T. S. FULLER, at 10:30 p.m. December 9th. She ws born May 17th, 1837, at Marion, Washington county, Maine. She moved with her parents to Wisconsis in 1849, grew to womanhood there, and was married to M. V. GLEASON (sic. full name Martin Van Buren GLEASON) June 23d, 1855. Four children blessed this union - Mrs. Ella J. BALL, Mrs. Alice B. RICKEY, Lucerene B. GLEASON and Mrs. Marvin B HUMPHREYS, all of show survive her. She was married to F. T. HUMPHREYS (sic. Fielding Thomas HUMPHREYS, a widower) April 8th, 1877, and one child was born to them, Fielding Dawes of Hooper, Neb. Mrs. H. was converted and united with the church in early womanhood and lived a true christian life. She lived her life of faith by doing the will of her master. She was a faithful wife and mother, tenderly devoted to her family. She had been a sufferer from paralysis for four years. Her last intelligible words were, "I have seen my Lord and will soon be released." All that kind hearts and loving hands could do was done for her. The family wishes to thank the friends who were so kind in the hour of affliction.
