John was a farmer. He had a nice farm across from the Bethel Pike cemetery. Highway 39 outside Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana. He married first Louisa Anderson, Jan 2,1840 in Decatur CO., IN and second Martha Ann Miller, Sep 21 1859 in Boone CO., IN. John developed a hole in his side and had consumption, there was not much of a death notice for us to get the complete picture. John is my 2 grt. grandfather and I would love to know more about him.
I think that he and his wives must have had a very sorrowful life a lot of the time. He lost child after child with both wives. I have seen all the gravestones and just stood there in wonder at what they must have gone through. There must have been a great deal of faith involved in their lives. These were good people.
