Friedrich "Fredrick" Korth was born in Saleske, Landkreis Stolp, Pomerania, Prussia, Germany, the son of Freidrich and Charlotte Korth. Friedrich married Anna Maria "Annie Mary" Notzke in the year 1848 at Duennow, Stolp-Stadt, Pomerania, Prussia, Germany. His sister Charlotte Dorothea Sara Korth was married in 1831 to his wife's brother, Jacob August Notzke. (Jacob & Dorothea Notzke are buried in the Bramble Cemetery, Jubilee Township, Peoria County, Illinois.)
