Wife of Jacob Spealman & daughter of Jacob & Elizabeth Houpt. Aged 5 years, 9 months & 25 days.∼Anna Eliza Houpt was the daughter of Elizabeth (née Keller) and Jacob Houpt. She was born on 15 February 1817, and christened Annaleisa on 30 March 1817 at Zion Lutheran, Middletown, Frederick County, Maryland. Her two given names appear to have been used interchangeably. Her daughter's Bible records her name three times as "Anna." Her first husband's will refers to "my dear Wife Ann Eliza." Other records have "Eliza" or "Eliza Ann."

Eliza Houpt and Jacob "Spealman" (Spielman) were married on 4 August 1834 in Washington County, Maryland. The couple are known to have had two children—David and Melinda—who lived to maturity. Jacob Spielman passed away in 1847 at the age of 41. In 1850, Eliza and son David were enumerated in her brother Ezra Houpt's household, while daughter Melinda was with Eliza's parents.

Eliza Ann Spielman and Michael Nyman were married on 6 December 1854 in Washington County. The couple were enumerated in 1860 in the county's Boonsboro District. She died in 1869 at the age of 52.

The will of Jacob Spealman (Washington Co., Maryland; dated 12 Jul 1847; proved 14 Sep 1847) directed that a third of the proceeds be given to "my dear Wife Ann Eliza"; the balance equally to "my Son David and my daughter Melinda."
