Obituary: Funeral services for Clarence J. Ascheman, 76, of Clontarf, were held on Nov. 6 at the St. Malachy's Catholic Church in Clontarf with Father Marion Casey, officiating.
Special music was presented by Mrs. Linda Staton.
Active pallbearers were Wayne Ascheman, Ray Ascheman, Alan Ascheman, Larry Ascheman, Robert Aaberg, and James Schirmer. Honorary pallbearers were Ed. Schoolmeesters, Ed. Razink, Sr., Stanley Sherman, William Motzko, Carl Tollefson and Ike Kannengresser. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Clarence Ascheman was born March 15, 1899 in Easton. On Nov. 23, 1921 he married Eva M. Fennell of Clontarf. He was engaged in farming.
He died Nov. 4, 1975 at the Swift County-Benson Hospital.
Surviving are his widow, Eva; four sons, Francis of Benson, Floyd of Hancock, Lyle of Clontarf and LeRoy of Benson; three daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Rita) Aaberg of Starbuck, Mrs. Chester (Agnes) Schirmer of Clontarf, and Mrs. Robert (Naomi) Erdmann of St. Cloud; one brother, Alfred of Park Rapids; and four sisters, Mrs. Vert (Leona) Goulet of Hancock, Mrs. Ray (Catherine) Spragg of Minneapolis, Mrs. Stanley (Dorothy) Kolar of Michigan and Mrs. John (Florence) Beckers of Michigan.
