OBITUARY FOR RAY HARLOW BILLSBY

Ray Harlow Billsby, age 67, of Harrison (Clare County), Michigan, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan.

He was born the son of Earl and Elizabeth (Campbell) Billsby on August 6, 1937, in Shepherd (Isabella County), Michigan. He married the former Doris J. Brown on September 26, 1954, in Angola, Indiana.

Ray owned and operated Billsby Lumber with his wife since 1970, and in his spare time he enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and racing.

Ray truly enjoyed being a member and supporting his community. He was an active member with the Clare County Fair, 4-H, Harrison Kiwanis Club, Harrison Moose Lodge #2235 and the Michigan Association of Timbermen.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at 2:00 P.M. at the St. Athanasius Catholic Church with the Reverend Leo Palmer officiating.

Visitation will take place beginning today at the Stocking Funeral Home 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and again on Tuesday, June 28, 2005, from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

Ray is survived by his wife, Doris; his two sons, Dr. Alan (Janna) Billsby, of Greenville, Mississippi and Daniel Billsby, of Harrison (Clare County), Michigan; his daughter, Wanda (Don) Belt, of Houston, Texas; his brother, Buhl Billsby, of Shepherd, Michigan; his four sisters, Rhea (Norm) Carr, of Merrill, Michigan, Esther White, of Shepherd, Michigan, Mabel Ward, of Saginaw, Michigan and Wilma Morey, of Winn, Michigan, a sister-in-law, Rowena Billsby, of Grayling (Crawford County), Michigan; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lyle Billsby and his two sisters, Eleanor Hatch and Marion Billsby.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrison Kiwanis Club or to the Clare County Animal Shelter.
