Wednesday, January 05, 1921
Estella Ewing was born in Adair County, Iowa August 20, 1866 and was married to Sherman E. Dorey at her home in Adair County, Iowa, November 13, 1890, and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Mona Maynard at Pagoda, Colorado, December 24th, 1920, being 54 years 4 months and 4 days of age at the time of her death.
The county lost one of its best citizens last Friday night by the death of Mrs. S. E. Dorey of South Fork. Mrs. Dorey had been afflicted with dropsy for many weeks and her death, tho sad, was not unexpected. Mrs. Dorey and family moved on a claim in the South Fork country where they have lived for a number of years. Mrs. Dorey was a sincere Christian woman and was loved by the members of her family and respected by friends and acquaintences. The funeral services were conducted at the Pagoda school house Monday afternoon by Rev. Toothaker of Craig and interment was made in the Pagoda Cemetery. Mrs. Dorey is survived by her husband, three daughters --- Mrs. Bert Maynard, Mrs. Vin Sullivan, and Mrs. Wm. Green, all of the Williams Fork country, and also has several grandchildren. The sympathy of the whole community is extended to the sorrowing husband and daughters.
