Bedney Franklin McDonald was born to Governor Charles James McDonald and Ann Franklin McDonald. His siblings were Mary Ann (m.Atkinson), Catherine (m.Dunwody), Ella, Charles J.Jr.(m.Henderson)McDonald. Bedney served as a 1st Lieutenant in the Civil War. Commissioned an officer in Company F, Georgia 1st Infantry Regiment. Mustered out on 29 Oct 1864. He married Mary Louise Rowland and they were parents of 8 children: Bedney, Martha, John, Andrew, Charles, Annie, DeWitt, & Mary McDonald.
