Nora Asmundson, 89, Tagus, ND, died Saturday, April 16, 2011 in a Stanley hospital. Funeral service is Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at American Lutheran Church, Stanley. Burial will be in St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery, Tagus, ND. Visitation is Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Springan Funeral Home, Stanley.

Nora Tillie Asmundson was born May 7, 1921 on the family farm to Knut and Aasta (Hallen) Asmundson. She was raised there and attended Viola School. Nora continued to live on the family farm her entire life. She helped with the farm operation, milked cows for many years, cared for the house and cooked for a farm family. She was the caregiver for her parents and brother until their passing.

Nora was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Tagus. She also attended Zion Lutheran Church in Berthold.

She enjoyed her friends and visits from family. The coffee pot was always on and she loved to cook for her guests. Nora loved to travel and was able to go to Norway 5 times.

Nora is survived by her many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Halvor, Nickolai, Henry, Asmun and Richard; sisters Emma, Annie and Agnes.

Memorials are preferred to St. Olaf Cemetery Fund.
