Charles Henry left decendants in Blount County and Birmingham AL. He was married to Mary Ann Allison on August 4th,1842,by Walker Brown, Justice of the Peace (Ancestry.com records) she was the daughter of Cunningham & Nancy Allison who moved to Blount Co. Al in 1819. In 1855 he owned 40 acres of land and a military warrant in Liberty. He sold his land to his brother Randolph for $35.00 and moved to Blount Springs AL. He enlisted in the war on December 1st, 1861. In August 1862 he was in the Civil War in Co. F 29th Infantry. He died of "Conjistive Fever" at Ross Hospital in Mobile, AL. At this point I am not sure where he is buried.
The family says Magnolia Confederate Rest in Mobile, AL. The Cemetery has no record of him. The Alabama Archives say he died on November 5th, 1863. The National Archives in Washington show on his medical card that he was admitted to Ross Hospital on September 28th,1863 and died there October 1st, 1863. His file also shows he appears for "Roll" from September 1st thru the 22nd, 1863. He had 3 sons and 3 daughters, Hasting Graves, born ca 1843,killed in the battle of Chickamauga, Thomas Graves born 1845, Nancy Graves born 1847, William Graves born 1849, Martha Graves, no info when born, but never married, Mary Polly Graves no info on when born, but never married. Charles Henry's family records were destroyed by the Northern Soldiers but we do know that he served as a Private, he shows in 1863 as a carpenter as well as a mechanic also a blacksmith on detached service in Mobile City.

He was my GG Grandfather.
