Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away August 31, 1995 in Sandy, Utah.

He was born February 17, 1918 in Murray, Utah, the son of Karl M. Bastian and Rose Wood. Dad married Flora Edwards, June 6, 1942.

He was a Jordan High graduate and attended Utah State University. He was a member of the LDS Church. Dad loved life and thought of it as an adventure. He began his journey as a farmer and poultry man in Utah. He found success and expanded his business to include ownership of the Pitchfork Ranch and Macks Inn Resort, both in Idaho.

Dad loved horses as he bred and race thoroughbreds throughout his life. He was active in his community, served on the Riverton Town Board and as the chairman of Riverton Drainage Board.

Dad's enthusiastic spirit will be missed.

Survived by wife, Flora, daughter, Barbara and husband, Henry Day, of Draper, Utah; son, Ralph Kent Bastian and wife, Kathy, of Idaho; son, Gary Mark Bastian and wife, Gloria, of Idaho; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sister, Joy Sundell, brother, Boyd Bastian.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 5, 1995 at 12 noon, Lake Hills Memorial Chapel, 10055 So. State St., where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Sunset Gardens, 10600 So. 1700 East, Sandy, Utah.
