Died 8:30 a.m. Sunday, May 4, 1986, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 79, a native of Fordoche and resident of Baton Rouge.
Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 3 to 10 p.m. Monday, and 8 to 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Efren Casino. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lolita VanMatre, Washington State; seven grandchildren, Norma St. Romain, Jessie Spence Jr., Lolita Lasyone, Mona, Jim, and Joe Spence, all of Baton Rouge, and John Spence, Colorado; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by husband, Tom Rice; nine brothers and sisters. She was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church.
