OBITUARY:

Philip H. Berry, 89, a 15 year resident of Derry, NH, died Monday April 18, 2011, in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry. He was born in Walkden, England on January 11, 1922, a son of the late Henry and Mary (Ford) Berry. He moved to the United States as a young boy and was raised in Lawrence, MA. Mr. Berry served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for the City of Lawrence Water Department for over 30 years, retiring in 1986. Following his retirement Mr. Berry enjoyed dinner's out with his wife as well as going to Rockingham Park with her. He also enjoyed gardening and watching the Red Sox, Bruins and golf on TV. Mr. Berry's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two daughters; Phyllis Lamberti of Laguna, NM and Patricia Gaumond and her husband Glenn of Litchfield, NH, a son; William Berry and his wife Ann of Manchester, NH, six grandchildren; Andrea, Justine, Caitlyn, Sarah, Billy and Tim. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Arline (Kennedy) Berry in 1995, a son in law; William Lamberti, four brothers and one sister.


Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. The burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker Street, Lawrence, MA.
