OLDEST GRACE CHURCH CONFIRMED MEMBER DIES

Mrs. Sarah Ann Breeds, 88, widow of Edward Breeds, died last night at 10 at her home, 9 ½ Grace Street, following an illness of four months.

Mrs. Breeds, who was the oldest confirmed member of Grace Episcopal Church of this city, was born at Cranbrook, Kent, England, March 10, 1847. She came to the United States in 1911 and had made her home in Cortland since then. Her late husband passed away in England more than 30 years ago.

She is survived by four daughters, Miss Alma Breeds, with whom she made her home, Mrs. Joseph Nash of Cranbrook, England, Mrs. Frank Whatman of Ithaca and Mrs. Arthur Hopkins of West Homer; four sons, Aaron Breeds of West Homer, Henry and James Breeds of Cortlandville and Frank Breeds of Cato; 25 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Grace Episcopal Church, Rev. William A. Braithwaite officiating. Friends may call at the late home, 9 ½ Grace Street, at their convenience. Burial will be made in the Cortland Rural Cemetery.
