Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services to begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 22, in the chapel, with Pastor Doug Click officiating. Burial will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Colbert Memorial Chapel will be directing.
Clifford Oneal Dover, 83, loving father, grandfather and brother, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011. He was a native of Tuscumbia and a member of Spring Valley Church of God. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952-54. He retired from Tuscumbia water treatment and wastewater treatment plant after 43 years. He was a master plumber and owner of Dover Plumbing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Dover; son, Larry Dover; parents, Henry and Lillian Dover; and brother, Dan Dover.
He is survived by daughters, Regina McGuyer (Bobby) and Michelle Pyle (Mark); grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey Cornelius (Lorie), Derrick McGuyer (Tiffany), Devin McGuyer (Brooke) and Katie Pyle; great-grandchildren, Cari Ann, Collins and Ava Cornelius and Austin McGuyer; brother, Jerry Dover (Faye); and sister, Carolyn Mauldin (Freddie).
Pallbearers will be Derrick McGuyer, Devin McGuyer, Wade Dover, Shawn Dover, Danny Dover and Eric Davis.
Honorary pallbearer is Austin McGuyer.
The family would like to thank his caregiver, Linda Gray, along with Dr. Webb and Hospice of the Shoals.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Spring Valley Church of God.
