Mrs. Murphy was born in Norfolk. She had retired from C&P Telephone Co. after 40 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the C&P Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Ellen Murphy and M. Celeste Howell, both of Norfolk; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church by the Rev. Lou Ruoff. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. today in the church. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
