He was born in Louisa county, near Fairview, September 29, 1891, the son of Ulysses Grant and Dora Mellinger Baxter. He was never married.
He was an employee of the Burlington Basket factory for 25 years, retiring in 1960, He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include a brother, Milo, Midvale, Utah; a sister, Mrs. Charles W. Sturdy, Kirkwood, Missouri; and a half sister, Mrs. Donald Ralston, 415 South Marshall; and a number of nieces and nephews. His father, mother and a brother are dead.
Services will be at Prugh's chapel Thursday afternoon at 2. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery. Reverend G. Dempster Yinger will officiate.
