Charles David Travis, 75, of Nederland died Monday at Oak Grove Nursing Home.
A native of Woodbury, Tenn. He was a former resident of Beaumont before moving to Nederland 35 years ago. He was retired co-owner of Travis Brothers Hardware Store in Beaumont and was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.
His remains were donated to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Arrangements were handled by Pat A. Riley Funeral Home in Nederland.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Lois Travis; two daughters, Sue Bigler of Port Arthur and Barbara DeVillier of Groves; a stepson, Frank Tousinau of Dickinson; three brothers, Bill Travis of Beaumont, Vernon Travis of Flower Mound and Ronald Travis of Nederland; four sisters, Marie Patterson of Monroe, La., Allora Smith of Fannett, Kolene Sewell and Irene Elmendorf, both of San Antonio; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
