John, 85, of Dorchester, passed away Sunday at South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Vineland.

The son of the late John A. and Mary Tallman Murray, he was a veteran and served his country in World War II and the Korean War.

He retired from South Jersey Gas Company Glassboro Division with 30 years of service. He was active with the American Legion Post 452 Mullica Hill, New Jersey and served in many capacities including Post Commander, County Commander and also a Department Vice Commander of the State of New Jersey and later a member of Post 82 Millville. He was also a member of the Society of the Third Division U.S. Army. He was a member of St. John Bosco R.C. Church of Millville.

Surviving are his wife Dorothy Grace Tozer Murray; brothers, Raymond and Leslie; stepchildren, Patricia Tozer, Carol and Arnold Carr, Charles and Kathy Tozer, Jr..

He was predeceased by a brother, Harry and a sister, Lois Hyman.

There will be a memorial service at a later date. Burial will be private in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Swedesboro, New Jersey.
