William and Nettie were married March 25, 1900 by Rev. H. J. Muckermann at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, Knox County, Missouri.

William Rekus Of Baring Area Dies, Aged 94
William F. Rekus, 94, of one-half mile east of Baring, died in a nursing home in Memphis where he had been the past nine months.
The body is at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina where rosary will be said Wednesday evening at eight o'clock.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at nine o'clock in St. Joseph Church in Edina with the Rev. Fred Yehle, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in the new Catholic cemetery at Edina.
The son of Frank and Louise (Haling) Rekus, he was born Oct. 30, 1873, in Lippstadt, Germany. On April 25, 1900, in Edina, he married Nettie Agnes Lingenfelter who survives. Also surviving are one son, B. B. Rekus of Chicago; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Denver W. Rekus, on Jan. 28, 1965 and one brother, Frank H. Rekus.
Mr. Rekus moved at the age of four with his parents to Knox County. Following his marriage, he and his wife moved to a farm south of Rutledge where they lived until moving to the present farm in 1948. He had been active in farming until a year ago.
Mr. Rekus owned one of the first steam threshing machines in Knox County and during his earlier years of farming did custom work for the farmers in that area. He also operated a sawmill for sometime.
