COLUMBIA - Services for Annette Todd "Lella" Powell, 62, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev. Dr. Eric Skidmore and Rev. Dr. Hal Todd. Interment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-8 this evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Rd. Pallbearers will be Major Mark A. Keel, J.P. "Pete" Strom Jr., Bill Chastain and David Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Shandon Masonic Lodge #370, Nursing Service of Dorn VA Medical Center and members of SLED. Memorials may be made to the S.C. Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane., Columbia, SC 29210, or the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy for S.C., P.O. Box 6426, Columbia, SC 29260.
Mr. Powell died Thursday, December 20, 2001. Born in Whiteville, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Leon Todd and Lella Bellamy Todd. She was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and a 1960 graduate of MUSC College of Nursing where she earned her Bachelor of Nursing degree. She retired from Dorn VA Medical Center after 33 years as a registered nurse.
Surviving are her husband, Walter G. Powell Sr. of Columbia; son, Walter G. Powell Jr. of Columbia; daughter, Susan Quinn Powell of Charleston; grandsons, Walter G. Powell III, Joseph Davis Powell; sister, Yvonne Todd Brien of Columbia.
