U.S. Congressman. Moving with his parents to Oklahoma in 1902, he studied law at the University of Oklahoma, was admitted to the bar in 1919 and commenced to practice law in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. During World War I, he served as a Gunnery Sergeant in the 6th Regiment, U.S. Marine Corps and was awarded the Croix de Guerre from the Republic of France. After the war, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-ninth Congress, serving (1925-27). An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of law until his death.
