Before he passed away, Verner Olof, Naima's youngest brother, said that Naima was to have come over to America on the Titanic but that a terrible snow storm in Gamlakarleby, Finland in early April, delayed her and she missed the voyage out of Southampton. She then began to save money to depart later in the fall before the next winter season moved in again. She landed 18 Oct 1912 at Ellis Island on the ship "S.S. Maurentania".

We are thankful for that snow storm!
