Alvin Elmo Jeter, age 84, died Thursday, April 21, 2011 in Wichita Falls, Texas at the Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April, 23, 2011 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with his nephew, Pastor Larry Crabtree of Childress, Texas officiating. Burial was at the Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home. Rev. Gary House presided over the interment at Highland Cemetery. Rev House is minister of First Christian Church of Iowa Park, Texas where Alvin's membership was held. A meal at the church was hosted by the Christian Women Fellowship for all who visited with family and friends.

Alvin was born in Olton,Lamb, Texas, May 24, 1926 to Tipton Bradford and Kitty (Fowler) Jeter. He lived in Iowa Park for almost 50 years working in Wichita Falls. He was a lifelong mechanic and a farmer. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Italy during World War II, receiving the WWII Victory Medal. Alvin's passions included windmill, mesquite wood and creataive designs, gardening and fishing.

His parents preceded him in death.

He was survived by his wife, Dorothy A. 'Dottie' Jeter (1922-2012); daughters,Yvette and husband Doug Treat of California; Carole and husband, Harold Nuessen of Gatesville, TX; a son, Darwin of California; grandchildren; great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
