U.S. Army veteran of World War I. PFC, Company E, 4th PA Infantry and Company A, 108th Machine Gun Battalion. Served from March 30, 1917 to May 26, 1919. Saw action in the 5th German Offensive, Ourcq-Vesle, Meuse-Argonne and Thiacourt Sector engagements. Wounded in left hand from shrapnel on Oct 5, 1918.
