GREENEVILLE – Betty J. Bailey, 69, of Baileyton, died Saturday at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Baileyton United Methodist Church. She retired from Five Rivers Electronic Innovations LLC.
Survivors include her husband: Rob Bailey; two daughters and a son-in-law: Pamela J. and Jay Southerland of Greeneville and Lisa Bailey of Baileyton; a son: John Bailey of Baileyton; three grandchildren: Jason Southerland, Justin Southerland, and Jeremy Bailey; a great-grandson; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Floyd Phillips of Fall Branch and Ken and Amelia Bailey of Baileyton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a daughter of the late Dave and Agnes Phillips, and was preceded in death by three brothers: Jack Phillips, J. C. Phillips, and Coy Phillips.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Jeffers Mortuary. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at Baileyton UM Church with interment in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Wade McAmis and the Rev. Kathy Fowler will officiate. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Roger Woolsey, Doug Woolsey, Charles Hawkins, Brian Jeffers, Carroll Pierce, Jay Frank Hobbs, and Bobby Tweed.
