TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Evelyn Turnipseed Butler, 88, died Aug. 28, 2003, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Services are today at 3 p.m. in the Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Kay, Jr., officiating. Burial is in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in the Sapps Community. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform is directing. Mrs. Butler was born March 17, 1915, in Aliceville, Ala., to the late Lawrence Lee and Annie Mayhew Turnipseed. She was a member of Aliceville First Presbyterian Church and a retired bookkeeper. Mrs. Butler is preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Butler; five sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Poole of Tuscaloosa; sister, Christine Leavelle of Tuscaloosa; brothers, Lawrence Lee Turnipseed of San Antonio, Texas, and Charles Turnipseed of Tampa, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
