Francis L. Davis III
Francis Leonard Davis III passed away Tuesday, June 23.
He was born to Esther (Burdick) and Francis Leonard Davis Jr. on Oct. 28, 1915, in Meridian, Texas. Francis had lived in Kingsland for 15 months coming from Carrollton, Texas. He was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Army. He was a 1939 graduate of SMU where we received three bachelor's degrees.
Frances is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Davis Vetch of Marble Falls; son, John Leonard Davis of Monument, Colo.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Paul Gregory Davis; parents, Esther and Francis Davis Jr.; and one brother, Gilder Davis.
Graveside services will be Monday, June 29 at 11 a.m. at Palestine City Cemetery in Palestine, Texas, where he will be buried with his father.
Arrangements under the direction Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes Inc. in Kingsland.
