Shayla and her sister Shianna both passed as a result of injuries sustained when they were struck by a car driven by a man who was driving under the influence of marijuana.

Shayla loved to play and dance with her friends and her older sister, Shianna who was her best friend. She was quite a daredevil and loved to sing and dance. Spongebob was her favorite charactor and she loved chocolate milk. Shayla and her sister, Shianna also shared a love of butterflies.
