James H. "Sonny" Thomas, 71, a retired field operation superintendent, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment: Azleland Memorial Park.

Sonny was born March 8, 1940, in Seymour to James and Alma Thomas. He had been an area resident since 1960 and retired in 1990 after 30 years with the city of Fort Worth. After his retirement he began building hot rod cars and doing chuck wagon cooking.

Survivors: Wife of 50 years, Norma Cook Thomas; daughters, Karen Stanley and Erica Johns and husband, Danny; brother, Harvey Thomas; grandchildren, Kristin Stanley and Daniel Johns; and great-grandchild, Caiden Richardson.
