Bristol Herald Courier, Thursday, March 23, 1961:
KINGSPORT, Tenn., March 22 - Thomas H. Kestner, 84, Kingsport Route 2, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Holston Valley Community Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Kestner attended the Bloomingdale Assembly of God Church. He was a native of Washington County, Virginia, and was the son of Andrew and Mary Lilly Kestner. He moved to Sullivan County in 1928.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Effie Koone, Mrs. Margerie Cooper, both of Greenville, S.C., and Mrs. Mary Alder, Kingsport; eight sons, Clarence, William, Paul, and Smith Kestner, all of Kingsport; Fred and Preston, Greenville, Oakley Kestner, Draper, N.C., Beecher Kestner, Lynchburg, Va.; two brothers, Walter Kestner of Abingdon, Va., and James Kestner, Huntington, West Va.;
30 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home is
in charge of arrangements. The body will remain at the funeral home.
