Services were 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Cantlon Otterness Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert Baker and the Rev. Robert Long officiating. Burial was in Lone Rock Cemetery under the direction of Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo. Memorials may be made to Lone Rock Cemetery Fund and left with the funeral home.

Escorts were Bill Chapman, Jack Chapman, Hal Chapman, Jimmie Beckner, Terry Turner and Mike Torrey. Honorary escorts were John Dye and Kenny Morris.

Nova Lorene McCoy, 92, was born March 9, 1919, in Woodhill, the daughter of Jess and Mary (Ethridge) Bartee. She died April 14, 2011, at Colonial Springs Care Center, Buffalo.

She spent her early years in northern Dallas County where she attended Willow Springs School.

She was united in marriage with Delmar Ray McCoy on Nov. 9, 1949.

She was a good mother, always caring for the needs of her family. She loved her children and really enjoyed playing with her grandchildren.

She loved working in the yard and garden, as well as canning her garden stuff.

She was a longtime member of the Buffalo Bible Baptist Church and truly lived her faith.

She was very happy when she got her driver's license at the age of 60. Red was her favorite color. She was proud of her red car that she had glued horse figures onto the hood and rear deck.

She loved to fish, too. It didn't matter how long the fish was, as long as it was wiggling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; a daughter, Shirley Jasper; five sisters: Dimple Mills, Ruby Karr, Ruth Cox, May Bartee and Frances Glass; and one brother, Roy Bartee.

Survivors include her sons: Wayne Bartee, Tunas, Lonnie McCoy, Buffalo, and Kenneth McCoy, Springfield; her daughters: Pearline Scrivener, Tunas, and Georgia Tuning, Springfield; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends who will all miss her.
