Funeral services for Gertrude May Young, 78, 200 E. Jefferson will be held Monday morning from Minton Memorial Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Joe Wilson, pastor of the University Heights Christian Church, officiating.
Mrs. Young died Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. in North Plains Hospital. She had lived in Borger for the past 42 years and during that time she and her late husband operated Young's Produce, from 1929 to 1959.
Mrs. Yong was born March 5, 1893 at Lehigh, Iowa and was married to George W. Young Dec. 20, 1914 at Apache, Okla.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Wilma Hinds of Liberal, Kans.; one brother, Ivan H. Crouse of Modesto, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Edwards, Modesto, Calif.; Mrs. Minnie Blankenship of Portales, N.M., two grandsons, one grand-daughter, one great grandson, two great grand-daughters.
Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Mortuary.
Casketbearers are Mark Fahle, Carl Harber, Ray Ooley, Joe Hall, Robert and John Hinds.
