Glenn Gladstone Merritt, 71, of 2109 Braxton Lane, Greensboro, died unexpectedly late yesterday afternoon while visiting a daughter, Mrs. Robert Parker, in Wilkesboro. He was a retired office worker for Cone Mills Corp.
He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and the 40 & S Legion. He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving, besides the daughter, are two sons, Mervin F. Merritt of Signal Mountain, Tenn., and Glenn Carl Merritt of Mystic, Conn.; two brothers, Mervin L. Merritt of Denver, Colo., and James M. Merritt of Shallotte; and six grandchildren.
The body will remain at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home pending completion of funeral arrangements.
