Henry Cooper Baughn, well known resident of Holmes County, died Sunday, January 8, at Holmes County Community Hospital in Lexington after a lenghty illness. He was 93.

A native of Holmes County, Mr. Baughn was born on January 22, 1867, and had spend his entire life in and near Lexington. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. In his younger days he had farming interests in the county.Funeral services were held from the Worthey Funeral Chapel on Monday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. G.H. Ledbetter and Dr. Price Brock officiating. Burial was in Black Jack cemetery, in Yazoo County.Survivors include five sons, Monroe Baughn, Memphis; Henry C. Baughn, Jr., and Walter Baughn, Pickens; Johnny Baughn, Lexington; and Jimmy Baughn, Yazoo City; a daughter, Mrs. O.C. Henson, Pickens; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.Pallbearers were Fritz Johnson, Dundee Smith, William Cook, Eddie Owens, Edward Humphrey, Jack Gaston and John Murphey.
