Born November 10, 1940, in Colusa, Ill., a son of Keith Otto and Isabel Louise Gruber Martin. He married Teresa Powell, August 3, 1958, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Canton. She survives.
Mr. Martin was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Canton; the St. Patrick Knights of Columbus; Eagles Aerie #1800, Canton; River Valley Country Club; Quincy Cursillo; and was currently an alderman for the city of Canton where he had served a number of years. Mr. Martin was self-employed as a commercial spray applicator and owned and operated Riverview Antique Mall, in Canton, along with his wife for several years.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa, Canton; one daughter, Debi Sue Geisenhaver, and husband Nick, Flint, Mich.; one son, Rick Martin and wife, Brenda; his mother, Isabel Martin; one sister, Jodel Dye and husband, Ed, all of Canton; two grandsons, Shane Martin and wife, Tonia, Columbia, Mo., and Brian Martin and fiancee, Bethany Windom, Belle Chase, La.; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Keith, and a grandson, Adam Derek Martin.
Visitation was held Tuesday, September 17, at Davis Funeral Home, Canton.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, September 18, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Canton, with Father David Cox officiating.
Interment was at Forest Grove Cemetery, Canton.
Music was provided by Lawson and Jan Faler, vocalists.
Pallbearers were Bob Otte, Mark Otte, Art Shirey, Dick Moore, Vancill Scifres, and Earl Wayne Howard.
