Services for Alvis Carl Rowan will be held at 10 a.m at the First Baptist church in Fort Gibson with Reverend Danny Gandara officiating.

Pallbearers will be Donny, Barry, and Will Rowan, Robert Marshall, James, Billy, and Ricky Whitehead, and Jimmy Rowan Jr. Burial will be in the Three Rivers Cemetery under the direction of Milsap Funeral Services of Fort Gibson.

Alvis was born August 13, 1925 in Fort Gibson, Ok. the son of Willie B. and Lillie (Green) Rowan and he died December 12, 2011 in his home in Fort Gibson, Ok.

He married Ella Mae Byfield May 31, 1946 in Muskogee, Ok. They were married 62 years before her death 2009. Alvis was a lifelong resident of of the area and a member of the First Baptist Church for 42 years.

Survivors include his children, Carl Jr. and wife Beverly of Broken Arrow, Ok., Lonnie and Brenda Rowan, Linda Wilson, Ginger Whitehead, Jim & Jimmy Rowan, all of Fort Gibson, Ok. nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, Brothers, Jim and Theda Rowan, Don and Barbara Rowan all of Ft. Gibson, sisters, Ethel Howard,
of Ft. Gibson, Ruby Wooten of Sand Springs, and Martha Igert of Ft. Gibson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ella Mae, grandson, Drew Allen, great granddaughter, Jayden Hope Rowan; brothers, Raymond, Jesse, John, Kenneth, and Loyd Dale.
