Ina Berntsen Aarrestad, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend died in Stavanger, Norway on Tuesday (September 6, 2005) surrounded by her children. Daughter of the late Jenny (Berntsen) Edberg of Marlborough and born in Norway in 1926, she immigrated to the U.S. with her late husband, Tonnes in 1950. She resided in East Hampton until 2002 when she returned to her hometown of Bryne, Norway to reside with her dear friend, Gunnar Eriksen. She leaves behind daughters, Marilyn and Ingrid; and son, Peter, and their spouses, Calvin, Narain and Lisa; and grandchildren, Siri, Erik, Kelsey and Ansel. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A full Funeral Service was held at her church in Norway. Calling hours will be Saturday October 15 from 12:30 - 2 p.m. at Spencer Funeral Home, 112 Main St., East Hampton followed by a Memorial Service. The Reverend Thomas Kennedy will officiate and burial will be at the convenience of the family in Lakeview Cemetery, East Hampton. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Ina's memory can be made to the East Hampton Art Association (Attn: Treasurer), P.O. Box 356, East Hampton, CT 06424 .
