Her remains were found August 30 and September 2 in a wooded area near Snoqualmie, about 26 miles east of Seattle, by searchers sifting dirt through screens. April was a murder victim of Gary Leon Ridgway, known as "The Green River Killer" who was responsible for the murder of 49 women in Seattle, Washington, between 1982 and 1984. He was found guilty for committing her murder
