Augustus Mickley died at his home in Cashtown on Monday morning aged 82 years. He had been sick for quite a while with heart trouble and other complications. He was born and lived his entire life in Franklin Township. He had been a carpenter by trade and also followed farming. He was a member of the Reformed Church of Cashtown and enjoyed the respect of a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. He leaves a wife; who was a Miss Stover and is about of the same age, three sons and two daughters, Elliott Mickley of Waynesboro, Mervin, of Franklin township, John at home, Mrs. Tobias Coover, of Virginia and Mrs. Harry Bucher of Cashtown. The funeral will be held tomorrow Thursday morning at 9:00, services by Rev E. W. Stonebraker, interment at Flohr's graveyard. He was the father of the late Mrs. Geo. D. Thorn of this place. He is survived by one brother, Charles Mickley of near Orrtanna, who is nearing the four score and ten mark,.
