Sylvanus Burk(e) fought in the Revolution as a drummer with John Pray's Company, Col. Joseph Vose's First Regiment; Muster roll for Jan., 1782, dated Huts, 1st Brigade, and sworn to at West Point; enlisted March 18, 1781)

He and his wife Achsah Webster and family came to Cleveland about 1804. In 1807 he was listed as a taxpayer in Cleaveland Twp, Geauga Co., OH. Many of his family members are buried in the same plot. He died in Newburgh Township.
