Dorothy H. Fetterman, long time resident of Sunnyvale, WWII Army Nurse, Dorothy passed peacefully from this world into the presence of the Lord on, March 28, 2010, at the age of 93. Dorothy grew up in Santa Cruz. Soon after receiving her nursing degree from Loma Linda University she enlisted in the US Army. Dorothy served three years during WWII caring for the brave men who were injured in battle. After being discharged she used her GI bill to continue her education at Stanford University earning a Master's in Health and Education. Dorothy worked for more than thirty years as a school nurse for the Sunnyvale School District. She is preceded in death by her parents Ida and Emma Brooks, eight brothers and sisters. Dorothy is survived by her son Robert and many friends. Long ago Dorothy put her faith in Jesus. Those of us who will miss her can take comfort that Jesus promised, I am the resurrection and the life; those who believe in me, shall never die. John 11:25-26. Visitation Friday May 7 1:00-4:00pm at Alameda Family 12341 Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd Saratoga. Funeral service Saturday May 8 at Calvary Chapel 1175 Hillsdale Ave, San Jose, followed by Military Honors and burial at Madronia Cemetery, 14766 Oak St, Saratoga. Immediately following the burial friends and family are invited to attend a reception in celebration of Dorothy's life.
