Glenn Albert Railsback, Jr. was born in Bearden, Ouachita County, Arkansas. He was the first child of Glenn Albert Railsback and Floy Lucy Hunt Railsback. Albert moved with his parents to Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1919.
Albert attended schools in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1936. While in high school, he played saxophone in the Pine Bluff High School Band under the direction of R. B. " Scrubby" Watson. He was a member of Delta Sigma fraternity and was a member of the annual staff, "The Zebra". Albert earned his degree, "Bachelor of Science in Business Administration" from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Arkansas.
His graduation date was June 10, 1940. While attending the University he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, his chapter No. is 206. He was also a Member of the Arkansas Booster Club while at the University.
Albert married Virginia Lee Dabney in Fayetteville, Arkansas in the First Methodist Church of Fayetteville, and returned to Pine Bluff, Arkansas where they resided. Albert entered the accounting practice of his father when he returned to Pine Bluff. On January 11, 1944 he received his certificate as a Certified Public Accountant. He was the youngest man to pass the Certified Public Accountant examination in the history of Arkansas, and was the only person at that time to have passed all parts of the exam at the same time. Albert continued in this profession until his death, except for the time that he served in the United States Navy. Albert received an appointment as Ensign in the United States Navy on May 23, 1944, and was discharged on March 19, 1946, at which he returned to Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Pine Bluff, Arkansas, was home, and prior to his service in the U S Navy, Albert and Virginia had two children, Glenn Albert Railsback, III and Cynthia Jane Railsback. After returning from the Navy, two more children were born; Joel Dabney Railsback, and Virginia Lee Railsback.
Albert, Virginia and all four children were members of the First Presbyterian Church of Pine Bluff. Albert served the church as a member of the Board of Deacons and as Church Treasurer. Albert was a member of the Pine Bluff Rotary Club, the Antique Automobile Club, the Pine Bluff Gun Club and the American Rifle Association. Professionally, he was a member of the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Albert Railsback died suddenly on September 25, 1959.

Albert Railsback, 40, died at Davis Hospital about 12:30 p.m. today, apparently from a heart attack. Mr. Railsback was associated with his father, Glenn A. Railsback, in the accounting profession. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Hospital records show that Mr. Railsback was admitted to the institution for treatment at 11:15 a.m. He had seen a doctor about an apparent heart attack early this morning but was not hospitalized at the time. Mr. Railsback, who was married to the former Virginia Dabney, lived at 1615 West 33rd. with his family, which includes four children. He also is survived by one brother, Thomas Charles Railsback of Pine Bluff.

Glenn Albert Railsback, Jr. , 40, of 1615 West 33rd, an accountant, died shortly after noon yesterday as the result of a heart attack. Mr. Railsback was born in Bearden on Oct. 10, 1918. His parents are Glenn A. and Floy Hunt Railsback of 1810 Cherry. He came to Pine Bluff with his parents when he was a child and was reared here. He graduated from Pine Bluff High School and later from the University of Arkansas in 1940. In the same year he passed his certified public accountant examination and became associated with his father in the accounting profession. During World War II he served in the Navy. Mr. Railsback was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he was a member of the Board of Deacons, and had served as church treasurer. He also was a member of the Pine Bluff Rotary Club, the Antique Automobile Club, the American Rifle Association and the Pine Bluff Gun Club.
In his profession he was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Virginia Dabney whom he married in 1940 at Fayetteville; four children, Glenn A. Railsback III, a student at the University of Arkansas, and Cynthia, Joe and Jennie Railsback; and one brother, Charles Railsback. All live in Pine Bluff. Funeral services were to be held at 4 p.m. today at Ralph Robinson and Son Mortuary by Dr. William L. McColgan, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, with burial in Graceland Cemetery.
