Herbert L. Stogdill, 71, of Hastings died April 29, 1993 in Red Oak. Graveside services were held Sunday afternoon at Hastings Cemetery with Rev. Carol Kress officiating. Mr. Stogdill was bora Jan. 18, 1922, In rural Glenwood to Noah Edgar Stogdill and Nancy Faye Wilhelm. He graduated from Malvern High School in 1941 and later served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served on the Hastings City Council and was a member of the Malvern First Baptist Church.
He enjoyed craft work of all kinds and was a skilled woodworker.
He married Thelma Jeanette Crawford April 4. 1946, in Tarklo, Mo.
He was preceded In death by his parents, brothers, Carl. Robert, Jerry and Ronald; and sisters, Dorothy and Hazel. Survivors include his wife, Thelma; daughter and son-in law, Sandra Kay and Toby Campbell of Hastings; three grandchildren; brothers, Thomas (Pete) Stogdill of Council Bluffs, Wilbert Stogdill of Oklahoma City and Malcolm Stogdill of Lavallette. N;J.; sisters, Velma Jean Boone of Tabor and Neva Bovill of Wahoo, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
