"Ira B. Russell
THREE OAKS -- Ira Basil Russell, 65, of route 1, Box Three Oaks, died at 10:45 Friday in the Buchanan Community hospital where he had been a patient since Monday.

Mr. Russell was born in Portland, Tenn., April 14, 1903, the son of Will and Alice Hardin Russell.

On March 12, 1924, in Portland, he was married to the former Lizzie Haase who survives.

Other survivors include six sons, Ira, Homer and Omer Three Oaks, William of Lakeside and Leonard of Marine City; two daughters, Mrs. Gilbert (Pauline) Harrison and Mrs. Ernest (Marcella) Rhodes of Stevensville; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bud of Gallatin, Tenn. and Gil of Portland; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Colley of Portland, Mrs. Lizzie Ledman of Cottontown, Tenn., Belle Haase of Three Oaks Mrs. Minnie Lewis of Detroit. Two brothers, Herman and Harvey, preceded him in death.

Mr. Russell had lived in the Three Oaks area for 26 years and was a farmer. Funeral services will he held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Connelly-Noble funeral home, Three Oaks. The Rev. Laurence Waterhouse, pastor of the Three Oaks United Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery." From The Herald-Palladium, August 31, 1968, page 12
