LOSES OWN LIFE IN RACE TO BED OF HIS DYING BOY.

DENVER, Colo., Sept. 28. - RUSSELL T. GIERHART,[Memorial# 82884911] "who had died from injuries in the Burlington wreck near Casper, Wyo., Thursday night, was racing with death when he lost his life. Gierhart was trying to reach the bedside of his little 5-year-old son, FRED BERNARD GIERHART, dangerously of scarlet fever here.
The lad's condition took a turn for the worse Thursday and Mrs. Gierhart telegraphed for her husband to come home. He left Casper for Denver last night. The local office of the Burlington Railroad confirmed his death Friday. The boy's condition is grave".

"Barney" Went on to marry twice 1st to LaNore Faye with whom he had a Girl Chayara, (1941-1943). She passed away at 3 years from Measles [Memorial#68920823. They divorced in 1949 & Barney married Neola Noell. He passed away of heart/stroke complications Jan of 1959 at age 40 at his sisters home in Phoneix Arizona.
He was Managing Director of the Circulation Dept. of the "Las Vegas Review Journal" during the 1950's & he and Neola owned the AlBar Coffee plantation in Honomolino Hawaii, until his death

His mother Mary Lou Culbertson-Gierhart [Memorial# 73936601] went on to Marry Lowell (Bill) William Soper [Memorial# 73936235] they lived out there lives in Phoenix Arizona,

Death Certificate says Greenwood Crematory Jan 9 1959, unknown if Marker was placed - Mr. Gierhart was cremated at Greenwood and not buried there. They were unable to say who received the cremains
