James R. Miller, Jr., 28, of West Hartford, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, (April 28, 2009). Born in Hartford, beloved son of Karen (Gesnaldo) Miller of Middletown and the late James R. Miller, Sr., he was raised in Jupiter, FL, and resided in Manchester and Newington before recently moving to West Hartford. James graduated from Central Connecticut State University and was employed as a computer programmer by Pratt & Whitney for the past nine years. He loved sports, especially football and baseball. James had a passion for music and was an international club D.J. Besides his mother, he also leaves his brother Jonathan Miller of Middletown; two sisters, Christie Goldmann of Granby, and Sharon Middlebrook, in Bagdad, Iraq; two uncles, David Gesnaldo of Windsor and Keith Gesnaldo of Southington; three aunts, Patricia Fitch of West Hartford, Linda Giuliano of New Britain, and Judith Orozco of Newington; two nieces; a nephew; and several cousins. He also leaves his loving fiancรฉe Sarena D. Chickering of West Hartford; her parents Andrew and Glenna Chickering and her brothers Andrew and Anthony Chickering all of Auburn, ME. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Burial will be in East Cemetery, Manchester. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
