Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Hornbeck, 94, of Rocky Ford died on Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 peacefully at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta, CO.

Margaret was born in West Liberty, OH on April 9, 1917, the daughter of the late Nelson Levi and Grace Belle (Stayrook) King.

She graduated from West Liberty High School in Ohio and the Mennonite School of Nursing in La Junta.

She was married to Earl E. Showalter in 1942, they later divorced. She then married Richard Hornbeck in 1953, they later divorced.

She retired as a Registered Nurse from the Pioneer Medical Center Rocky Ford, CO.

She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints La Junta, CO.

She is survived by: Daughter Mary (John Voorheis) Morrill of Lonetree, CO; Son Ralph (Janet) Showalter of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Roy (Phyllis) Showalter of Swink, CO; Step Son Richard (Joni) Hornbeck of Montrose, CO; Sister Martha (Ellis) Deibler of Waxhaw, NC; Sister-in-law Edith King of Conneaut Lake, PA; Granddaughter Audra (Todd) Schlosser of Burlington, CO; Granddaughter Amy (Clint) Randolph of Centennial, CO; Granddaughter Abby (Bo) White of La Junta, CO; Grandson Steven (Melanie) Showalter of Fredricksburg, VA; Grandson Heath (Rachel) Showalter of Cortez, CO; Granddaughter Carly (Tim) Brown of Montrose, CO; Grandson Landon Hornbeck of Denver, CO. She is also survived by Great-Grandchildren: Briar Schlosser, Tatum White, Talon White, Tristyn White, Tyran White, Michael Showalter, Jessica Showalter, Caden Showalter, Connor Showalter
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 2 sisters and her step-mother: Anna King.

Graveside Service at Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO, at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 29th, with Rev. Tom Dudley and Bishop David Mayhoffer officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3-8 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Valley Hospice 118 W. 4th La Junta, CO 81050.
