Info rec'd from another contributor states that Peter McKenzie Stockett, Civil War Veteran was Thomas Galen Stockett's father.

His wife was named Ethel Lewis. They had been married 3 years on the 1900 census (married 24 March 1897, Wilkinson County, Mississippi).

Peter McKenzie Stockett was born on 11 Jul 1842 on the Gretna Green Plantation near Woodville, Wilkinson County, Tennessee. His parents were Isaac Johnson Stockett (1819-by 18 Jun 1870) and Mary Olivia Mckenzie (1824-1875). He died 30 Nov 1901.

Peter was one of many interesting of the Stockett siblings. Others were:
